General Sale Report - 11th December 2008

Isn't it amazing what you can pick up at an auction? Lot 1 at our General Sale last Thursday was an original movie banner from the motion picture, Troy. It sold for just £8, which has to represent an absolute bargain for the purchaser. More money was paid for original works of art; Geoffrey Burrows' Winter Landscape fetching £55, a watercolour of Ely Cathedral making £80.
The miniature Doulton Ladies (seven of them) made £70, bang on their reserve. They were probably the most talked about lot of the day with a lot of interest from prospective buyers. The Georgian mahogany tea table found a new home for £140.
We will be offering our unsold lots at The Cloisters Fair over the Christmas period, 17th to the 21st December, so do come along and grab yourself a bargain.
